This product consists of the dried bile of the domestic pig (*Sus scrofa domestica Brisson*) of the family Suidae. 【**Execution Standard**】 *Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China*, 2015 Edition, Part I

【**Preparation Method**】 Take porcine bile, filter, dry, and pulverize to obtain the product.

【**Description**】 This product is a yellow to grayish-yellow powder. It has a slightly fishy odor, a bitter taste, and is hygroscopic.

【**Identification**】 Perform the test using Thin-Layer Chromatography (Appendix VI B, *Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China*, 2015 Edition, Part I); the results should correspond to those of the reference standard for Porcine Deoxycholic Acid.

【**Inspection**】 *Bile of Cattle or Sheep*: In the chromatogram of the test specimen, no spots corresponding to the reference medicinal materials of bovine or ovine bile shall appear.

【**Reducing Sugars**】 Shall comply with the requirements.

【**Foreign Organic Matter**】 Shall comply with the requirements.

【**Moisture Content**】 Not more than 10.0%.

【**Assay (Porcine Bile Powder)**】 Calculated on the dried basis, this product contains not less than 16.0% of Porcine Deoxycholic Acid (C₂₄H₄₀O₄).

【**Usage and Dosage**】 0.3–0.6 g; to be taken orally after mixing with water, or incorporated into pills or powders. For external use, an appropriate amount of the powder may be applied directly or mixed with water to form a paste for topical application.
