This Arabica Coffee is grown on farms under a canopy of trees(Shade) by small scale Coffee growers, located in the west of the rift valley on the lower slopes of Mt. Elgon,on the Kenya side at an altitude 1000 to 2000 metres above sea level. The rich fertile volcanic soil and tropical climate are ideal for growing this high quality Arabica Coffee. This Coffee is nurtured manually (Weeding and pruning), handpicked, handwashed and sun dried. It provides a source of income to the rural communities around the region.
